BAND MEMBERS:

DRUMS: The G… (Gerald Little)
The G…: “Everything you do today has an effect on tomorrow. So live your life today like you would like to live it tomorrow.” Gerald Little
Born in Boston, MA, and raised in Washington, DC, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and song writer, The G… (Gerald Little), now resides in Greensboro, NC. His passion is playing the drums. Solo projects include smooth jazz, nu jazz, lounge, electronic, and Christian music. He has released five solo CDs, Sounds of The G…, The Sweetness, Flying High, his Christian release, Armor Of God, and his latest release, For The One I Love, on his record label, The G… Productions. “My childhood dream was to have my own band. I am now living that dream with the formation of Global Grooves.”

KEYBOARDS: Arla (Arlene Little)
Arla Thank you God for every good and perfect gift including my husband Gerald and my daughter Rayne.
Arla (Arlene Barnwell Little) of Durban, South Africa, has been writing music, playing the piano, and singing internationally in churches and musical productions in South Africa, Europe, and the USA, for many years. Her debut Christian CD, Perfect Peace is just the beginning of many future releases. She can be heard singing, A Love Like This; Walk With Me; and Looking for Love on three different CDs of ‘The G…’

LEAD GUITAR: The Incomparable One (Al May)
Alan May “The Incomparable Al May” – Virginia Beach: “Of all noises, I think music is the least disagreeable." Samuel Johnson
Master guitarist, ‘The Incomparable Al May’, can play anything from jazz, to rock, to blues and anything in between. This highly skilled musician who played bass for a reggae band also played the lead guitar for several other bands before joining up with Global Grooves.

SAX: J Boogie (Jonathan Link)
Jonathan “J-Boogie” Link, Thomasville, NC: “Music is your own experience, your thoughts, your wisdom. If you don’t live it, it won’t come out of your horn.” Charlie Parker
I became interested in music at a young age and joined the band in middle school. In high school I went on to win district and state band competitions. I also received numerous jazz and solo awards. Music became a passion, and I knew I wanted to play the sax for the rest of my life. I went on to study music for a short time at UNC-G and Pfeiffer University and played for many social events. In 2010 I met Gerald Little and joined Global Grooves.

BASS: Einstein (Joseph A Lockwood)
Joseph “Einstein” Lockwood: This music is our spirits at work. E=mc2
A native New Yorker of Guyanese /Belizean descent, I started playing piano at age 4 but I didn’t like it. Then I tried the congas and the rhythm guitar. At around age 12, I switched to the bass guitar. The rest as they say is history. I was in a family band called the “Brothers 5”. While in Junior High, I started my own band “Elements of Sound”. We played together for 30 years, then I left and moved to Ohio where I joined a band called “Motor City Gold” for two years. Eventually I moved to Greensboro, NC and joined up with Global Grooves. I have studied the masters of the electric bass (Clarke, Wooten and Miller) and studied the styles of many bassists to develop my own signature style.

GLOBAL GROOVES invites you to enjoy this personal musical journey, knowing that our debut CD, ‘On the Move’, is our spirits at work.
